A Sacred Invitation to the Reproductive Justice Community
More than ever, we are being called to tend to the invisible ruptures within the reproductive justice movement - especially between women who identify as BIPOC and those who identify as white, (as well as all of the inter-cultural and intra-cultural misalignments in between).

As midwives, doulas, and birth workers, we hold space for life itself.  But many are also carrying unspoken grief:
Historic harm.  Betrayal.  Mistrust.
Emotional wounds that linger in our relationships and echo in our sacred work.
Picture
We've seen how easily trust can fracture.  A white colleague becomes triggered, and harm is caused.  A woman of color expresses righteous anger, and it's labled as aggression.  These are not isolated incidents - they are the symptoms of deeper systemic and spiritual wounds.

The reproductive space doesn't shield us from this - it magnifies it.
It brings us face-to-face with our own ancestral legacies and the pain we carry in our wombs, our voices, and our silences.

But there's another way.

What is B.I.R.T.H.?

B.I.R.T.H. is a spiritually grounded healing journey designed to support women within the reproductive justice ecosystem in healing the emotional and historical divides that separate us.

This is not diversity training.
It is not a space for performance.
It is a sacred container for truth, healing, and soul-level reconciliation.

Together, we will:
  • Unearth the roots of mistrust, fear, and inherited harm
  • Engage in sacred dialogue and deep listening
  • Explore sacred shadow work through the Four Gateways framework
  • Reclaim our ancestral wisdom and spiritual power
  • Build trust through presence - not performance
How can we connect soulfully while still maintaining our integrity, voice, and the experiences of our ancestors?  How can we come together as women: heart-to-heart, soul-to-soul without pretending or denying the collective wounds our skin-tones, varied cultures, and racialized experiences automatically evoke?
Why This Healing Matters
Unspoken tension between birth workers is not just personal - it's systemic, energetic, and generational.  And it doesn't stay between us.  It flows into the sacred spaces we hold.
For expectant mothers:
When tension and mistrust go unacknowledged among those supporting birth, the pregnant person often feels the energetic fragmentation.  It creates anxiety, undermines safety, and may even reenact ancestral trauma in the body and psyche of the mother.

For babies:
Babies are conscious beings.  They feel the emotional climate of the womb and the room.  When birth spaces carry silent conflict or suppressed emotions, it can imprint early stress into their being and affect bonding and regulation.
For communities:
When those entrusted with bringing life into the world cannot trust or honor one another, we mirror the very systems we are trying to transform.  Healing becomes performative.  Movements become brittle.  The deep work of liberation gets stalled.

But when we gather with intention,
when we commit to deep soul work,
when we choose repair over rupture -
we change the energetic blueprint of birth itself.

The Roots of Wholeness Framework™
The Roots of Wholeness Framework™ is Foundational to the B.I.R.T.H. Cohorts offering.  It focuses on healing the invisible ruptures - personal, ancestral, and systemic - that divide us.  It is the grounding framework participants complete before stepping into the deeper soul reclamation of the Spiritual Doula Training or the spiritual intensives of the Chrysalis Circle.
The Four Pillars of the Roots of Wholeness Framework™
      1.  Truth-Telling & Witnessing
  • Creating a sacred container where participants name the realities of racism, cultural wounds, and generational pain.
  • Building trust by allowing stories to be heard, witnessed, and honored without judgment.

       2.  Restoring Connection
  • Reweaving relationships across divides - racial, cultural, and ancestral - through deep listening, empathy, and compassion.
  • Recognizing our shared humanity and divine light beneath learned patterns of separation.

       3.  Ancestral Healing & Cultural Reconciliation
  • Exploring inherited wounds, both visible and invisible.
  • Beginning the process of untangling shame, guilt, fear, and mistrust rooted in generational trauma.
  • Honoring the wisdom and resilience carried forward by our ancestors.

       4.  Laying the Groundwork for Transformation
  • Cultivating safety and readiness for deeper shadow and alchemical work.
  • Learning embodied practices for presence, grounding, and spiritual alignment.
  • Creating a shared commitment to journey together through the healing ahead.

Why This Framework Matters for Reproductive Justice
The Roots of Wholeness Framework™ equips participants in the reproductive justice ecosystem to:
  • Heal the emotional divides that can directly impact expectant mothers and families.
  • Strengthen bonds of trust between BIPOC and white birth workers, reducing unconscious harm.
  • Develop resilience and cultural humility before engaging in advanced spiritual doula practices.
  • Provide a living foundation for the next stages of training (Spiritual Doula + Chrysalis Circle)
For the Women Who Know There's More
If you've felt the unspoken tension...
If you've longed for cross-cultural sisterhood that is rooted, honest, and whole...
If you believe that our healing is a form of birth work...

This is your invitation.
To return to the sacred.
To reweave trust.
To restore our collective light.

Our next B.I.R.T.H. Cohorts begin

FALL 2025!

What Is A Cohort?

We define a "Cohort" as a group of women who start our process together, and continue journeying together, learning with each other, supporting one another and deepening their emotional and spiritual bonds.  Because our collective work as women is layered and complex, once a Cohort is established, those women will remain together to deepen trust, holding space for and with each other.  It is not a "clique" but rather a small unit of the whole.  There will be ample opportunities for women to connect, learn and bond deeply with women from other Cohorts.

PHASE ONE:  PREGNANCY (First and Second Trimesters)
In order to maintain, respect, and sustain our individual and collective voices, a 6-session (2 Hours each) *Virtual Cohort will be set-up to metaphorically, stick our toes in the shallow end of the societal pool and gradually find ourselves swimming confidently in the deep end - peeling back the layers, strengthening our voices, and standing boldly, and unapologetically in our divine truths.

* When Cohorts are comprised completely of women in one central and local area, the Pregnancy sessions may be conducted in person - only if it is convenient for all the participants in the Cohort.

 What Comes Next?

PHASE TWO: ACTIVE LABOR (Third Trimester)
The B.I.R.T.H. Journey continues with a 3-Day experiential, overnight Retreat. It is designed to be an emotionally, physically, and spiritually safe environment where women of all identities, cultures, ethnicities, and ages can explore complex concepts, conversations, and perceptions that negatively impact our ability to form heart and soul-centered relationships with one another.

Then What?

PHASE THREE: POSTPARTUM
Together, we will create space to deepen the exploration of  racism, sexism, voice, femininity, spirituality, activism, and our relationships.  Together we will B.I.R.T.H. our truth, and we will emerge stronger, wiser - with more profound knowledge and understanding of ourselves and other cultural groups.

  • Are ready and able to be present with an open mind, spirit, and heart
  • Are committed to be respectful and honest with yourself and other women as we all strive to be the best versions of ourselves
  • Can commit to show up for the entire 6-sessions Virtual Cohort, and the in-person, 3-Day Retreat Experience at the agreed upon times even when the conversations and the work becomes difficult and complex
  • Know that women hold the keys to the healing of humanity and are willing to discover and stand in your power

IMPORTANT: While our heartfelt mission is to support you powerfully as we explore and heal these sensitive topics through life-changing experiences and discussions, we did not design the B.I.R.T.H. Virtual Cohorts and our 3-Day Experience to provide personal or professional therapy for an individual in attendance.  If you have had a history of being diagnosed with any medical, mental, or emotional health or addiction challenges, it is vital that you consider seeking advice from your medical doctor or licensed therapist before and after attending our in-person and virtual events.  Many of our Cohort Leaders are not trained healthcare professionals and do not carry clinical backgrounds in therapeutic counseling for addictions or other mental health concerns.
Should there be serious concerns, before you attend any B.I.R.T.H. Cohort event, we recommend that you seek professional clarification that B.I.R.T.H. Cohorts are safe and supportive enough for you to participate.  As well, for afterwards, seek prior assurance that follow-up support is accessible.
